What About Franklin County?

Lincoln Health and Wellness Center Now Offering Appointments at New Satellite Location in Franklin Learning Center

We are excited to announce that one day a month, for the next three months, Lincoln Health and Wellness Center care team staff will be onsite at Franklin Learning Center for appointments!

Since the opening of the original two health center campuses, we have been working to identify opportunities to grow within Franklin County. While at this time we cannot open a full health center, we want to provide an opportunity for easy access to establishing care in person, as well as many other services listed below.

We are beginning with a pilot program that will offer these services one time per month for the next 3 months. Based on utilization, we will evaluate whether this can continue into the next school year.

WHO

Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 employees, pre-Medicare retirees, spouses, and dependents age two and older who are enrolled in the Lincoln Intermediate Unit health insurance plan, and work or live in/near Franklin County.

WHEN

Please Note: One of the other great benefits of using the Lincoln Health and Wellness Center for your medical needs is that you do not need to use sick, vacation or personal time (PTO) for these appointments. You may make appointments during your scheduled work hours, as long as you communicate with your supervisor in advance regarding your appointment time, any associated travel time, and classroom coverage needs (if applicable.) You do not need to provide any medical information related to the appointment. Staff should work collaboratively with their supervisors to ensure classrooms are covered during this time.

Please be aware, the Proactive MD team has shared that the average appointment lasts between 30-45 minutes, although the first appointment may take longer to review your medical records and history. If you cannot access an in-person appointment during your scheduled work hours, please know that you may access virtual care through the center without using sick, vacation or personal time (PTO) as well.

Why is there not a location in Franklin County? Will there be a possibility for this program to expand into Franklin County?

The decision was made to roll out initially in New Oxford and York based upon analysis of the number of people that work and live in all three counties during the feasibility study phase of this project. In order for a location to be financially feasible there has to be a utilization threshold and currently, the LIU12 population does not have that density working or living in Franklin County. It is a goal to expand into Franklin County, but we will need a partnering organization to do so.

We have worked to develop and offer solutions to the members who live and/or work in Franklin County that provide as close to the same services available in New Oxford and York, such as virtual care and the Sav-Rx retail pharmacy program.

If the New Oxford or York locations are not convenient because I live and/or work in Franklin County, is there a way I can still have access to this benefit?

Yes, no matter where you live or work, if you are eligible for Lincoln Health and Wellness Center services, you can see the providers virtually for most health care needs.

If I have a virtual visit, will I still be able to get my medications at no cost?

If you are prescribed a medication during your virtual visit that is available on Lincoln Health and Wellness Center's dispensing list, and picking it up at one of the health and wellness center locations is not convenient for you, the provider can send it to a Sav-Rx participating pharmacy near you and will provide you with a Sav-Rx pharmacy card for you to pick up the medication at no cost.

If I have a virtual visit, will I still be able to get labs drawn at no cost?

If diagnostic tests, like labs, are ordered by the Lincoln Health & Wellness Center provider during your visit, you will have the option to come into one of the Lincoln Health and Wellness Centers to have it drawn, or a care team member will work with you to find a LabCorp or Quest draw station that is convenient for you to have your labs drawn at no cost. Results will be sent back to the Lincoln Health and Wellness Center provider to review and share with you.

Orders placed by outside providers can be drawn at no cost at one of the Lincoln Health and Wellness Center locations only.
